Job Title: Traffic Design Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Traffic Design Engineer to join our team. As a Traffic Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing traffic engineering plans and projects for roadways, bicycles, and pedestrians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop traffic analyses, operations, and safety studies to improve vehicular and pedestrian safety.
  • Design plans for pavement markings, signing, signals, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and lighting tasks.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of engineering work for minor and major projects.
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects.
  • Perform design computations and design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction.
  • Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program.
  • 0-4 years of related experience.
  • Intermediate experience with MicroStation, GEOPAK, and OpenRoads Designed (ORD).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Written and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Engineer Intern certification (EI) or ability to obtain within 6-12 months from date of hire.
  • Experience working with local clients at the county and state level.
  • Experience with Synchro, TransModeler, or HCS is a plus.
Work Environment:

Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
