Job Summary

The Assistant Patient Care Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Patient Care Manager in the clinical management and administrative coordination of designated patient care units or services. This position is responsible for promoting the achievement of unit goals and objectives, working in a supportive manner as a resource for the patient care unit, and representing the Patient Care Manager as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Patient Care Manager in supervising patient care staff and operations for an assigned shift for a patient care unit or service.
  • Coordinate administrative functions as assigned by the Patient Care Manager, ensuring consistent implementation and monitoring of organizational policies and standards of care.
  • Provide consistent and timely information and feedback to the Patient Care Manager.
  • Responsible for knowledge and application of all personnel policies and requirements of the collective bargaining agreements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
  • CA Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to contribute to health care policy formulation when working in partnership with a multidisciplinary team of health care providers.
  • Ability to delegate responsibly to others, activities according to ability, level of preparation, the standards of practice and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ability to develop programs and lead process improvement projects.
