Job Overview

Position Summary: The Irrigation Operations Manager oversees the comprehensive management of irrigation teams, ensuring high standards in quality control, scheduling, training, and recruitment.

Objective: To efficiently lead all irrigation teams to deliver superior service and quality, while maintaining safety and exceeding client expectations. The irrigation division will function autonomously, yet collaborate with construction and maintenance teams to provide exceptional service to our clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Set and achieve key performance metrics for irrigation sales, operational performance, and client retention.
  2. Maintain consistent communication through various channels to uphold high standards and foster strong relationships.
  3. Develop training protocols for irrigation personnel in essential water management services (e.g., Spring Start-ups, Site Inspections, Winterizations).
  4. Oversee scheduling and management of both internal and subcontractor teams.
  5. Ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled for each project site.
  6. Provide weekly reports on labor hours and track inventory and materials utilized.
  7. Maximize efficiency on job sites while ensuring employee safety and morale.
  8. Assist the sales team in estimating services and promoting work.
  9. Contribute to the design process for irrigation-related projects.
  10. Evaluate team performance and address any conflicts that arise.
  11. Maintain professional and courteous communication with clients regarding their inquiries and needs.
  12. Exhibit flexibility in scheduling and supervising teams as seasonal demands change.
  13. Adapt to schedule changes and thrive in a dynamic work environment.
  14. Collaborate effectively with all team members and multiple supervisors.
  15. Perform additional duties as assigned; responsibilities may evolve over time.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications: At least 3 years of experience in a managerial role, with a preference for 3 years in Landscape Water Management Operations. Strong communication and time management skills are essential. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required. Proficiency in computer skills, creative problem-solving, personnel management, organization, and customer service is preferred. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Educational Background: A degree or certificate from a four-year college or university, or four or more years of relevant experience and/or training.

Physical Requirements: Must be capable of lifting and carrying materials up to 50 lbs regularly, and able to navigate the work site. The role requires extended periods of physical activity, including walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting, potentially up to 100% of the workday.

Work Environment: The position involves exposure to outdoor elements, including pollen, chemicals, and varying weather conditions.
