Overview

Fairview Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Electrophysiology (CV/EP) Technician to join our Cardiac Cath Lab team at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank location in Minneapolis, MN. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment with a team of experienced professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Operate monitor/recording equipment in all cardiac cath lab procedures.
  • Balance and calibrate pressure transducers and amplifiers in all rooms.
  • Troubleshoot and correct ECG tracing problems.
  • Operate tableside C-arm controls.
  • Ensure all POC testing equipment is maintained according to established standards.
  • Apply prescribed radiation safety principles at all times.
  • Collect, assess, and maintain patient data.
  • Enter patient demographics into monitoring and x-ray equipment.
  • Record patient and monitor data on event log according to established guidelines.
  • Archive procedure to CD-Rom.
  • Enter data into computer system for accurate billing and patient procedure history.
  • Reduce right and left heart data to basic form for physician interpretation and reporting.
  • Assess and document pulses distal to catheter insertion site pre- and post-surgical.
  • Recognize rhythms and sudden hemodynamic changes.
  • Assist invasive cardiologist with all invasive coronary procedures.
  • Scrub in all procedures in diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab and EP.
  • Prepare and set up sterile trays.
  • Assist cardiologist with catheter and wire manipulation while maintaining sterile technique.
  • Complete all other Core EP duties.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of start date.
  • Obtain any of the following within 1 year: Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT), Registered Radiologic Technologist (RTR), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES).
