About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Technician to join our Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory team at Fairview Health Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting cardiologists with invasive coronary procedures, operating equipment, and collecting and assessing patient data.

Responsibilities
  • Operate monitor/recording equipment in all cardiac cath lab procedures.
  • Electrically and mechanically balance and calibrate pressure transducers and amplifiers in all rooms.
  • Troubleshoot and correct ECG tracing problems.
  • Operate tableside C-arm controls.
  • Insure all POC testing equipment is maintained according to established standards.
  • Apply prescribed three major principals of radiation safety at all times.
  • Collecting, assessing, and maintaining patient data.
  • Enter patient demographics into both monitoring and x-ray equipment.
  • Record all patient and monitor data on event log according to established guidelines.
  • Archive procedure to CD-Rom.
  • Enter all data into computer system for accurate billing and patient procedure history.
  • Reduce all right and left heart data to basic form for physician interpretation and reporting.
  • Assess and document pulses distal to catheter insertion site pre- and post-surgical.
  • Recognize rhythms and sudden hemodynamic changes.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
  • Current CPR.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification within 30 days of start date.
  • Obtain any of the following within 1 year: Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT), Registered Radiologic Technologist (RTR), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES).
