Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our sensory team as a Food Service Specialist. In this role, you will assist with various sensory projects, including Descriptive Analysis (DA), consumer guidance, difference panels, and team tastings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist sensory team with panel preparations, including making up references, sample preparation, and setting up the panel room for training/testing.
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the lab, including the panel room, sample prep lab, and booths, in compliance with Cargill Food Safety, EHS, and PPE policies.
  • Assist with restocking the panel room, booth area, and sensory labs, taking a weekly inventory of supplies to be ordered, and placing all the orders, including Instacart orders.
  • Assist panel leaders in keeping project spreadsheets up to date, making up feedback charts for panelists, and other data entry tasks.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks on a deadline basis and work effectively with a team as well as independently.
  • Must be able to drive on city streets to pick up samples from other R&D locations or go from one building to another to assist with panels as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Takes initiative in technical problem solving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work in a lab environment and maintain good food manufacturing practice.
  • Ability to lift weights up to 50 lbs. and perform other necessary physical requirements of the job.
Preferred Skills
  • 3-6 months lab experience.
  • Kitchen experience is a plus.
