Job Summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. As a key member of our Radiology-Ultrasound department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures to aid in the evaluation of pathological entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the examination.
  • Obtain additional information about patients' medical histories as necessary.
  • Prepare procedure rooms and replenish stock, including linen and related supplies.
  • Prepare prescribed contrast media and solutions for administration to patients.
  • Review clinical data on requisitions, analyze anatomical structures, set up equipment, and perform procedures according to protocols.
  • Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information for the area of the body being studied.
  • Assist radiologists in performing diagnostic invasive procedures.
  • Prepare and set up sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment required for procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Must be registered (or registry eligible) with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). If registry eligible, registry must be obtained within 12 months of date of hire.
  • Must maintain required hours of continued medical education.
  • Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
