Job Title: Lead Registered Behavior Technician

Job Summary:

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Lead Registered Behavior Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Behavioral Health department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with developmental disabilities, pediatric feeding disorders, and other behavioral diagnoses.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide applied-behavior-analytic services under the direction of a professional behavior analyst.
  • Assist with patient assessments and program implementation.
  • Organize and maintain data-collection and statistical-analysis systems, research activities, and staff training.
  • Collaborate with clinical faculty and professional behavior analysts on various research activities.
  • Assist in the creation of data-collection protocols and systems.
  • Develop and implement behavior-reduction programs, such as extinction protocols and non-contingent reinforcement.
  • Prepare materials and assist in the training of caregivers, including parents and school personnel.
  • Use behavioral skills training methods to teach novel therapists, new staff members, and practicum students about case-specific protocols, procedures, and data collection systems.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with caregivers, including daily progress updates and treatment changes.
  • Anticipate case-related needs, including inventory of supplies and creation of session materials.
  • Prepare initial drafts of patient discharge summaries and treatment recommendations following discharge from the program.
  • Prepare the team for any planned absences.

Requirements:

  • High-school degree/GED.
  • American Heart Association BLS Provider certification.
  • Completion of RBT Competency Assessment of the BACB prior to or within 1 month of start date.
  • Must pass RBT exam within 3 months of start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with patients or individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities, pediatric feeding disorders, or other behavioral diagnoses in an educational, instructional, or therapeutic setting.
