About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Process Control Manager at The University of Texas at Austin. As a key member of our Utilities and Energy Management department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our power plant and chilling stations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement control systems and strategies to optimize energy management and reduce costs.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of control systems, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the Process Controls group, including training and development of staff.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements and optimize system performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, and maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in control systems, power plant operations, and energy management.
  • Experience with Rockwell, Emerson, and GE Software, as well as SCADA and power management equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience in power plant administration, supervision, and management.
  • Experience with gas and steam turbines, industrial chillers, and associated equipment.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. The successful candidate will be required to work a 40-hour workweek, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Occasional overtime may be required.
