Adelphi Medical Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Pathologist to join our team in Vancouver, Washington. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to contribute your expertise to a vital public health facility.

As a Forensic Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in investigating deaths that fall under jurisdictional criteria. Your primary responsibility will be to determine the cause and manner of death through meticulous postmortem examinations and comprehensive reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough postmortem examinations on cases involving suspicious deaths, such as homicides or infant/toddler fatalities.
  • Meticulously collect and preserve samples, specimens, and tissues for analysis and documentation.
  • Prepare detailed technical examination reports adhering to established reporting standards and conventions.
  • Issue preliminary reports outlining the cause of death when a definitive determination can be made without further investigation.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to all investigations.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement officials, providing expert testimony on cases as required by the Sheriff, Prosecuting Attorney, and other relevant authorities.
  • Work closely with death investigators, exercising professional judgment to determine the necessity of attending death scenes or the discovery of remains.
  • Engage with family members of decedents as requested, offering compassionate support and information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to contribute to the overall success of the department.
Qualifications:
  • Possess a valid medical license issued by the state of Washington (MD/DO).
  • Hold board certification from the American Board of Pathology.
  • Demonstrate 3-4 years of experience practicing as a Board-Certified Forensic Pathologist.
