First Solar is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Operations Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our warehouse operations team, you will be responsible for supervising shift operations, leading a team of material handlers, and ensuring smooth warehouse activities in accordance with standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise shift operations, including supervising material handlers in the warehouse shipping and receiving activities.
- Assist in managing allocation and work assignments of resources to ensure smooth operation.
- Conduct minor troubleshooting and resolution.
- Ensure correct workflow in the area to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Perform daily receiving/shipping documentation, particularly computer data input.
- Ensure issuance of material in accordance with requestor requirements in proper UOM.
- Assist in training for new shift associates.
- Conduct ongoing audits of process and product quality and safety.
- Manage attendance and performance problems and take appropriate disciplinary action.
- Ensure shift operations are carried out in compliance with work rules and procedures.
- Help foster and build an empowered team that constantly strives to improve performance and quality.
- Ensure good housekeeping 5S and in accordance with all safety procedures.
- Promote a culture of safety.
- Support and/or participate in Warehouse Continuous Improvement projects.
- Maintain and supervise warehouse cost control.
- Ensure on-time preventive maintenance of all warehouse MHE, tools, and equipment.
- Coordinate shunting or interplant truck operation.
- Assure adherence to all First Solar processes and procedures, including ISO9K, ISO14K, 45K, safety, housekeeping, etc.
- Minimum 3 years of warehouse operational experience.
- Experience in MHE handling (licensed or certified as dictated by regulatory requirements).
- US: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Warehouse Operational Certification or Lean Certification preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse and inventory control concepts (FIFO, Kanban, cycle counting practices).
- Demonstrated supervisory skills.
- Ability to coach and lead a team of material handlers.
- Ability to communicate in English and local language.
- Meticulous attention to details.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes.
- Must be team-oriented.
Hybrid Physical Requirements:
- Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift.
- Will climb stairs on an occasional basis.
- Will lift, push, or pull up to 27 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects on a frequent basis.
- 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required.
- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
- May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
- May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron, and arm guards).
- All associates working on the production floor may be required to wear a respirator at any given time and thus, the ability to wear a respirator is a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair).
May travel up to 10% of time, including internationally.
If hiring to a new plant prior to plant start, associate will be required to spend extended time (60-80%) in another plant in either Ohio or Alabama for training until their assigned plant starts equipment installation.
Estimated Salary Range:$51,900.00 - $74,000.00, Annually
