Sterile Processing Specialist

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Clinical Manager of SPD, functions as a member of the team, decontaminating, assembling, and sterilizing instruments and instrument trays.
Receives and collects incoming supplies and instruments according to policy and procedures. Completes requests to dispense equipment and supplies. Works independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creates and maintains a sterile field
- Operates and maintains equipment such as steam sterilizers, automatic washers, and automatic 3 bay sink and sonic
- Performs routine BI for steam and Sterrad
- Tracks supplies that need to be ordered and replenishes supplies in the department daily
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent. Experience preferred, but not required. ISHCSMM certification preferred within 18 months of hire date. Prior experience in SPD preferred, but not required.
