Position Overview:

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Dietitian (Clinical). This position is integral to the healthcare team, focusing on the application of nutrition science to improve patient health outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:

As a Dietitian (Clinical), you will:

  • Conduct thorough nutrition evaluations for patients with varying health complexities, utilizing the Nutritional Care Process (NCP) to identify nutrition-related issues.
  • Formulate and execute Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) plans tailored to individual patient needs, assessing and adjusting interventions to ensure optimal health results.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of MNT in patient records, following the Assessment, Diagnosis, Intervention, Monitoring, Evaluation (ADIME) framework.
  • Calculate dietary requirements and identify necessary dietary modifications or interactions with medications.

Professional Development:

In this role, you will enhance your skills in clinical nutrition, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for Veterans. You will also engage in ongoing education to stay current with evidence-based practices and contribute to improving the dining experience for patients.


Work Environment:

This position is not remote and requires presence in a healthcare setting. The work schedule may include flexible hours.


Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, candidates must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Possess the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English.

Additional Information:

Participation in vaccination programs is mandatory for all healthcare personnel within the Veterans Health Administration.
