Job Summary

Rutgers University is seeking a highly skilled Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join the Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies (INTS) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to promote the institute's research and achievements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the INTS website, including content development and regular updates.
  • Collaborate with Rutgers INTS faculty and researchers to gather information and ensure accuracy and relevance of internal and external communication.
  • Assist with the preparation of fact sheets, brief reports, and PowerPoint slides for the Center for Rapid Surveillance of Tobacco (CRST) and other INTS efforts.
  • Ensure alignment with branding in all communications, including for CRST, INTS, and other efforts.
  • Work with the Rutgers Communication and Marketing team to coordinate additional communication efforts on behalf of INTS.
  • Responsible for creating monthly newsletters and annual reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communication, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Two years of related experience, including writing articles covering scientific content and creating social media campaigns.
  • Professional writing experience, familiarity with audio/video production, and a solid knowledge of the current social media landscape.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and programs used to create visual graphics for articles and social media.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a science communications professional in a public health-related field.
  • Experience at an institution of higher education or a research center.
