The Central Maintenance Technician I or II plays a vital role in supporting the mission of Housing Connect by providing exceptional customer service to maximize the filling of vacant units, thereby giving low-income individuals in Salt Lake County access to affordable housing.
Key Responsibilities- Unit Preparation
- Collaborate with the Supervisor and Property Managers to prepare, paint, and turn units efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain, repair, and upgrade properties owned and/or operated by Housing Connect.
- Ensure all exterior paintable surfaces are well-maintained.
- Team Work
- Assist with grounds care, fence repair, and other tasks as needed.
- Support customer service and work orders.
- Provide coverage and assistance at properties.
- Client Needs
- Meet client needs by providing interpretation and translation services, when necessary, using agency-approved resources.
- On Call
- Provide scheduled on-call 24-hour coverage, as assigned.
- Assist with snow removal, as needed.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Pesticide Applicator License, obtainable within 30 days of employment.
- Certification of two years of on-the-job experience in a related field. Trades and crafts schooling is desirable but not essential if abilities are adequate.
- Knowledge of proper tool and equipment use and care.
- Proficiency in the English language, both written and spoken.
- Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
