As a Rehabilitation Specialist at Catholic Health Initiatives, you will play a crucial role in assisting patients to restore their independence and enhance their quality of life, enabling them to engage in their daily routines safely.
In collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, physical therapists, and speech therapists, you will assess patients, formulate individualized care plans, and implement treatment strategies.
Your daily responsibilities will involve working with a diverse patient population facing various challenges, such as orthopedic, neurological, sensory, and cancer recovery issues.
You will conduct thorough evaluations and re-evaluations, providing updates to physicians regarding patients' progress and improvements in their daily activities. Your role serves as a vital link between physical and speech therapy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess new patients and recommend tailored care plans.
2. Deliver therapeutic interventions aimed at enhancing range of motion, strength, and balance during everyday activities.
3. Suggest and customize adaptive equipment as necessary.
4. Perform ongoing assessments to monitor progress and any changes in status.
5. Maintain comprehensive documentation of evaluations, treatments, and modifications to care plans.
6. Offer support to colleagues and seek assistance when required, including mentoring and guidance for further professional development.
7. Uphold a positive and encouraging demeanor to inspire patients in their recovery journey.
Qualifications
Required Education:
A combination of Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy.
Required Licensure and Certifications:
An active Occupational Therapy license in the relevant state or through the occupational licensure compact. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory upon hiring.
