We are seeking a highly skilled scientist with expertise in flow cytometry and high-content imaging to join our collaborative and dynamic team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of novel cell-based assays and participate in matrixed teams to support flow cytometry and sorting experiments. Your responsibilities will include operating and maintaining flow cytometry and sorting equipment, as well as providing guidance on imaging experiment design, execution, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to matrixed teams by supporting flow cytometry and flow sorting experiments in collaboration with neuroscience colleagues.
  • Operate and maintain flow cytometry and sorting equipment.
  • Provide guidance on imaging experiment design, execution, and analysis.
  • Generate, analyze, and present reproducible data.
  • Participate in the interpretation of results and maintain well-organized records.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and 10 years of experience; or Master's Degree or equivalent education and 8 years of experience; or completion of PhD.
  • Experience with flow cytometry or flow sorting.
  • Experience with immunocytochemistry and fluorescence microscopy.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs.
  • Experience in cell/molecular biology techniques such as cell culture, immunofluorescence, Western blotting, qPCR, transfection/transduction.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently design and execute experiments, interpret data, and identify appropriate follow-up strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong experience in hands-on use of flow cytometry and flow sorting instruments; analysis of flow cytometry data.
  • 2+ years experience in high content imaging and automation in biotech/pharmaceutical company environment, with hands-on experience in small-molecule/genetic-based phenotypic screens.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This range may be modified in the future. AbbVie offers a comprehensive package of benefits, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
