Paramedic Instructor

Blackhawk Technical College is seeking a highly qualified Paramedic Instructor to join our team. As a Paramedic Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching credit courses within the Associate of Applied Science Paramedic Technician program at our Central Campus in Janesville, WI.

• Develop and deliver high-quality instruction for Paramedic Technician courses, ensuring students receive a comprehensive education in paramedicine.
• Engage in ongoing student learning assessment to determine the effectiveness of instruction and curriculum, using data to measure program outcomes and design improvement strategies.
• Remain current on best practices in teaching and learning, utilizing alternative delivery methods and technology to enhance student success.
• Manage classrooms and lab environments to ensure a safe and productive learning space, overseeing inventory and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Maintain accurate student records and reports, identifying students needing assistance and referring them to Student Services.
• Develop and update or revise course and program curriculum as needed, preparing and updating course syllabi according to BTC guidelines.
• Meet weekly office hours and other duties required to meet student, employer, and college needs.
• Create a classroom environment that is respectful of diversity and demonstrates a commitment to multiculturalism.
• Attend Advisory Committee and departmental meetings, collaborating with Business & Industry and Secondary Education partners to recruit students and assist in job placement activities.
• Participate in staff development activities and serve on college improvement teams and committees as appropriate.

• Bachelor's degree in Paramedicine or a related field.
• Two years (4,000 hours) of paramedic work experience, with at least one year (2,000 hours) within the past five years.
• Wisconsin Certified Instructor II or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Wisconsin Paramedic License or ability to acquire licensure.
• Current NREMT Paramedic Certification.
• American Heart Association BLS/ACLS/PALS Instructor Certification.
