Job Summary

Olivet Nazarene University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Athletic Trainer to lead our sports medicine program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive sports medical program for our intercollegiate sports teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive sports medical program, including injury prevention, evaluation, management, treatment, and rehabilitation services for student-athletes.
  • Athletic Training Services: Provide athletic training services, including attendance at team practices and competitions, to ensure the health and safety of our student-athletes.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and manage the athletic training staff, including hiring, training, and evaluation of assistant/associate athletic trainers.
  • Insurance and Risk Management: Manage the University's Secondary/Athletic Accident Insurance plan and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the strength and conditioning staff to ensure safe and effective fitness, nutrition, and conditioning programs for student-athletes.
  • Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student-athlete injuries, treatments, and progress.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in an accredited Athletic Training Program.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of professional experience in athletic training, with a strong background in sports medicine and program development.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Certified by the BOC, Illinois State Athletic Training Licensure, and CPR/AED Instructor Certification.
