Job Summary:

The Nurse Auditor plays a vital role in supporting the strategic goals of Loma Linda University Medical Center by utilizing critical thinking skills to facilitate initiatives that drive business, clinical, and organizational excellence.

As a seasoned registered nurse, the successful candidate will perform medical record audits to ensure compliance with established policies, state, federal, and county regulations. They will apply analytical skills to measure outcomes, identify documentation deficiencies, and provide real-time education to caregivers.

The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of case management and transitional care practices, as well as basic nursing concepts and care of the patient. They will be able to communicate effectively with others, think critically, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform medical record audits for Medicare beneficiaries and others as appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with established departmental policies, state, federal, and county regulations
  • Apply analytical skills to measure outcomes and achieve operational and performance excellence
  • Identify documentation deficiencies and provide real-time education to caregivers
  • Use concrete analytical methods to produce outcome scorecards
  • Perform other duties as needed
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree or Diploma Degree in Nursing required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Minimum one year data analysis experience or case management experience required
  • Minimum three years experience in case management, utilization review, or internal auditing preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Case Management Certification
  • Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
