Ned's Club, a global collection of hotels, clubs, spas, and restaurants, is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join their team in Washington D.C.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will support the Executive Sous Chef in leading one of the kitchens at Ned's Club, creating an environment for exceptional culinary experiences while providing outstanding food quality and presentation.

About Us:

Ned's Club is a members' club set over three floors of a neoclassical style building situated within President's Park. The Club has a Rooftop Terrace and Loft Restaurant with views overlooking the White House, US Treasury, and Washington Monument.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to lead the team in producing high-quality food, compiling daily mise-en-place, and ensuring all dishes are cooked and presented to exceptional standards.
  • Oversee kitchen operations before, during, and after service, handling day-to-day needs and supporting people leadership tasks.
  • Maintain food quality and presentation, monitoring food leaving the kitchen and providing coaching and feedback to the team where necessary.
  • Create and maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment, protecting guests and team from harm.
  • Promote excellent food safety ratings and audit standards by closely monitoring procedures and practices, keeping impeccable records, and implementing action plans when needed.

Requirements:

  • Previous kitchen leadership experience with a proven track record of delivering outstanding food and people management.
  • High standards are essential to meet customer expectations.
  • An organized and detailed approach is necessary for maintaining records and meeting safety and audit standards.
  • Creative flair is welcome for seasonal menu changes and potential food design contributions.
  • A calm demeanor and passion for delivering exceptional food are crucial in high-pressure kitchen environments.
