Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at NJ Morris Cty Cor Fac. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality medical care to our patients, working collaboratively with our healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily sick call, carry out treatments, and follow standardized procedures and protocols.
  • Provide emergency care for identified medical emergencies and coordinate patient transfers to appropriate facilities.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures, repair lacerations, and remove sutures.
  • Treat and manage non-psychotic behavioral health disorders and provide ongoing care for patients on maintenance doses of non-psychotic medications.
  • Participate in Quality Management and Peer Review activities, document findings using the, and attend quarterly Quality Management meetings.

Requirements

  • Completion of a master's program in nursing (NPs) or an accredited education program for PAs.
  • Previous correctional/detention facility experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience.
  • Unrestricted current license, certification or registration in state of practice - must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration.
  • Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS and PALS (where applicable) certification through AHA.
