Position Overview

Lee College is seeking a highly motivated and organized Part-Time Supplemental Instruction Coach to facilitate peer-to-peer learning environments for students in STEM courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in a STEM field, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend all class meetings of assigned courses and model student behavior, including taking accurate notes, participating in class discussions, and assisting students with group work.
  • Facilitate weekly group study sessions, plan activities, and review course materials to support student learning.
  • Document SI session attendance and maintain accurate records.
  • Meet with course professors and SI coordinators to discuss student progress and course materials.
  • Participate in mandatory SI team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and program developments.
Requirements
  • Must have completed College Algebra (MATH 1314) or equivalent with a grade of B or higher.
  • Must be majoring in or hold a degree in a STEM field and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week during the academic year.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completed Public Speaking (SPEECH 1315) or equivalent with a grade of B or higher.
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week during the academic year.
