Position Overview

The Financial Project Coordinator will be primarily responsible for the daily management of financial reporting, maintaining a robust system of accounting records, and implementing a comprehensive set of controls. This role will report directly to senior accounting staff and the Assistant Controller/Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the month-end closing process while ensuring adherence to GAAP standards and regulatory requirements;
  • Contribute to the development of a streamlined financial reporting process that is both timely and efficient, including the generation of reports and the establishment of key performance indicators;
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency;
  • Assist senior accountants in analyzing financial data and presenting financial reports, ensuring clear communication of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements;
  • Participate actively in all audit-related activities;
  • Support the preparation of annual financial statements, including necessary disclosures;
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • The ideal candidate will possess strong financial expertise, be collaborative, hands-on, results-driven, innovative, and demonstrate the highest level of integrity.
  • Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance is required.
  • Candidates from both non-profit and private sectors are encouraged to apply.
  • Proven success in complex, fast-paced, and dynamic environments is essential;
  • Experience in driving transformation and acting as a change agent is highly valued;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships through effective interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence;
  • Understanding of non-profit accounting nuances, particularly concerning restricted grants, is preferred but not mandatory.

Compensation

Annual Salary: $80,000 - $110,000. Compensation may vary based on skills and experience.
