Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to join our team at J.D. Irving. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for ensuring the consistent supply of high-quality raw materials to our Cavendish Farms facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management: Manage grower contracts and conduct regular visits to monitor raw quality and volume.
  • Raw Material Sourcing: Monitor raw materials based on the Company's contracts and quality needs, and review the growers' database to ensure accuracy of contracts, payment prices, and deductions.
  • Delivery Scheduling: Plan and coordinate monthly raw delivery schedules in conjunction with Production's needs, matching raw materials to the pack plan with the Raw Receiving Team and Production.
  • Cost Savings: Identify and execute opportunities for operational cost savings through better value raw materials, and monitor raw delivery wait times to improve efficiency for growers and the plant.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate processing contracts with growers.
  • Grower Feedback: Provide grower feedback regarding quality and areas for improvement.
  • Strategy & Planning: Collaborate with plant leadership to develop short and mid-term site strategies and execution plans to satisfy demand.
