Position Overview

The Recreation Program Manager is tasked with creating a diverse array of activities aimed at improving the quality of life for residents, tailored to their individual preferences. This role involves the planning and execution of various events, including social gatherings, outdoor adventures, creative workshops, and spiritual activities. The Manager must ensure active participation from residents and maintain thorough documentation of all outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and oversee daily engagement activities for residents.
  • Offer a wide variety of programs to cater to the diverse needs of residents.
  • Evaluate residents' interests and set activity objectives accordingly.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate events.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of all activities in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage budgetary considerations and procure necessary materials.
  • Encourage resident participation in the planning of activities.
  • Foster support from families and the community.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills.
  • Capacity to remain composed in challenging situations.
The Recreation Program Manager should possess good physical and mental health, be capable of lifting and transporting items weighing up to 50 pounds, and be open to a flexible work schedule.

Education, Experience & Certification Requirements

Mandatory:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • CNA License in good standing.
  • BLS certification.
  • Completion of an accredited training program for activity directors.
  • Certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or as a certified activities professional.
