Position Overview

The Recreation Program Coordinator is tasked with designing and implementing a variety of activities aimed at improving the quality of life for residents based on their individual preferences. This role involves the organization of diverse events, including social gatherings, outdoor adventures, creative workshops, and spiritual enrichment programs. The Coordinator is responsible for fostering resident involvement and effectively documenting the outcomes of all activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, plan, and execute daily engagement activities for residents.
  • Offer a wide array of programs tailored to meet the unique needs of residents.
  • Evaluate residents' interests and establish activity objectives.
  • Collaborate with various departments to coordinate activities.
  • Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers to assist with programs.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all activities in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage the budget and procure necessary materials for activities.
  • Encourage resident participation in the planning of activities.
  • Promote family and community involvement in the activities offered.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Capacity to maintain composure in challenging situations.
The Recreation Program Coordinator should possess good physical and mental health, be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and be open to a flexible work schedule.

Education and Experience Requirements

Mandatory:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • CNA License in good standing.
  • BLS certification.
  • Completion of an accredited training program for activity directors.
  • Certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or as a certified activities professional.
