Activities Specialist

Reports To: Activities Director, Program Director, Executive Director

Compensation: $50,000 - $55,000 annually

Summary

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of others? As an Activities Specialist at Serenity RCF, you will play a vital role in enriching the lives of our residents through engaging activities and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Integration of Support Services:
    • Develop individualized activity plans aligned with each resident's unique needs and goals.
    • Conduct person-centered evaluations and collaborate with the behavior support team to ensure seamless integration between activity plans and behavior support plans.
    • Identify and implement enriching activities, including atypical options that cater to individual residents' interests and abilities.
  • Activity Coordination:
    • Work closely with the behavior support team to create comprehensive activity plans for each resident.
    • Regularly review and update activity plans to ensure they remain relevant and effective.
    • Provide training and resources to staff members, empowering them to engage residents in activities even when dedicated activities staff are unavailable.
    • Track resident progress and participation in activities to monitor the effectiveness of the implemented plans.
    • Assist in leading and organizing all activities, contributing to the development of a vibrant monthly calendar.
    • Facilitate support groups for residents.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Actively participate in service planning teams, ensuring alignment with care conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings.
    • Engage in weekly IDG meetings and contribute to other tasks as assigned.
Preferred Skills
  • Prior experience working in a residential program serving individuals with complex medical and behavioral challenges.
  • Experience collaborating with an activity team.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and a creative approach to finding solutions.
  • Proficiency in using Google Drive, email, calendar, and other Google services.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations, including OARs.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • A friendly demeanor and a genuine passion for connecting with people.
  • Experience working with individuals who have diverse needs and abilities.
