Security Engineer – Firewall Management
SPECTRAFORCE is seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join their team as a Firewall Management specialist.
Role Overview:
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for overseeing the deployment and management of Next Generation Firewalls to secure the enterprise's boundaries. This role involves working across multiple locations where these firewalls are installed. You will also participate in incident response and be part of an on-call rotation, providing support after hours and on weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy and manage Next Generation Firewalls to ensure enterprise security.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement security strategies.
- Participate in incident response and on-call rotations.
- Provide support and guidance to team members on security-related matters.
Requirements:
- Over 3 years of experience in network administration.
- Proficient with Next Generation Firewall technologies.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols, WAN, and internet technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Next Generation Firewalls from Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, and/or Cisco.
- Understanding of threat protection, IDS/IDP concepts, and URL filtering tools.
- Knowledge of common cyber threats, attack methods, and defense practices, with a keen interest in continuous learning in these areas.
- Awareness of enterprise security strategies and governance.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and regulatory compliance from NIST, CIS, and CTPAT.
Travel Requirements:
Some travel may be required for this role.
