Packaging Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Manager to oversee the Packaging Department in our 24/7 manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of our products.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a strategy that links packaging operations to the company's strategic plan.
- Coach and develop a team of leaders to support a direct group of hourly co-workers.
- Ensure the correct management practices, metrics reviews, escalation procedures, and resources required to support daily operations and long-term improvement plans.
- Identify and execute process improvements related to safety, line stoppages, customer service levels, staffing, fill rates, inventory levels, capacity planning and utilization, and packaging accuracy.
- Conduct regular departmental meetings and participate in brewery staff, shift, and safety meetings.
- Work with supporting functions such as Safety, Quality, Maintenance, and Brewing to resolve production-related issues.
- Manage and achieve the department's annual budget, identifying and implementing cost-improvement opportunities through material suppliers, manufacturing, and packaging partners.
- 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing/packaging environment.
- Extensive practical experience with high-speed bottling/packaging operations in food/beverage industries.
- An in-depth understanding and track record of delivering operational processes that drive safety, quality, cost, and delivery improvements.
- Proven success in managing a team, safety records, and operational issues.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion, with proven experience in delivery against critical KPIs.
- Lean manufacturing experience as it relates to Packaging/Production.
- Demonstrated project/idea development skills.

- All production roles are required to pass a pre-employment physical exam to comply with their specific role requirement(s).
- Certain roles may require the use of a respirator and passing the associated fit test.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, sometimes repeatedly.
- Regular walking and standing for long periods of time (up to 11 hours a day) on concrete, metal and grated surfaces.
- Responsibilities may require crouching, stepping over, crawling under, bending, twisting, climbing and reaching above head and shoulders repeatedly throughout the day.
- Responsibilities may require climbing flights of stairs, working from heights or on elevated platforms.
- Ability to wear assigned PPE (safety shoes, gloves, facemask, hearing protection and hard hat).
- Established dexterity so you can handle materials, operate equipment and interface with computer systems with precision.
- Some roles (e.g., forklift operator) may be required to sit for a prolonged period of time and have strong peripheral vision and depth perception.
