The Department of Economics at the University of Minnesota is seeking a qualified individual to fill a term faculty position for the 2024/25 academic year. This is a non-tenure-track appointment that will involve teaching introductory and upper division undergraduate courses, as well as graduate-level courses. The successful candidate will also be expected to engage in an active program of scholarly research and perform service and outreach appropriate for the rank of appointment.
Responsibilities- Teach a variety of courses in economics, including introductory and upper division undergraduate courses, as well as graduate-level courses.
- Engage in an active program of scholarly research, including publishing research papers and presenting at conferences.
- Perform service and outreach activities, such as serving on departmental or university committees, participating in community outreach programs, and engaging in other activities that promote the department and the university.
- Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Economics or a closely-related field.
- Three years of teaching experience in a college or university.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, including experience with curriculum development and teaching large classes.
- Distinguished program of research, including publications in top-tier journals and presentations at conferences.
