Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our compassionate team in the field of veterinary critical care.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct triage and thorough assessments for patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

- Perform venipuncture and catheter placements, including peripheral, jugular, and triple lumen catheters

- Execute procedures such as cystocentesis, urinary catheterization, and the placement of naso-gastric and naso-esophageal tubes

- Administer oxygen therapies, manage chest tubes, and operate mechanical ventilation systems

- Carry out advanced life-saving techniques including CPR, blood pressure monitoring, and ECG interpretation

Required Qualifications:

- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Veterinary Technician in the Commonwealth of Virginia

- Proficient in basic nursing skills and CPR; capable of placing intravenous catheters

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to ongoing learning

- Rabies prophylaxis is mandatory (provided by employer)

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in critical care nursing within a veterinary context

- Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) certification in Emergency & Critical Care
