About the Role

City Market, Onion River Co-op is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Safety & Security Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Safety & Security team, you will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of storewide safety and security protocols, ensuring a safe and secure environment for our customers, employees, and guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout all store locations, providing excellent customer service and supporting staff.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents of compromised safety, including shoplifting, internal theft, and deliberate damage to property.
  • Develop and maintain two-store knowledge and awareness, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of our operations and security protocols.
  • Document and report all incidents and events related to safety and security, providing accurate and timely information to management.
  • Provide emergency response support, including keyholder duties in the absence of the Assistant Director of Operations or Safety & Security.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of storewide safety and security trainings, ensuring all staff are equipped to handle emergency situations.
  • Collaborate with operations management, senior management, and executive management teams to ensure seamless communication and effective problem-solving.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years retail or related management experience, including hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and developing staff.
  • Minimum of 2 years security-related experience, including the use of CCTV security systems.
  • LPC, LPQ, or other equivalent Loss Prevention certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years customer service-related employment preferred.
