Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Safety Quality Assurance Intern to join our team at Sheetz. As a key member of our FSQA Facilities team, you will assist in the development and implementation of key tasks and projects that will serve as experience and developmental opportunities in the field of food safety and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Solve novel and unique problems through evidence/data collection, investigation, root-cause analysis, collaboration, and creative critical thinking solutions.
  • Assist in recommending and establishing food safety and quality procedures via written programs that will be implemented in Sheetz facilities.
  • Assist in training and implementation of food safety and quality programs for receiving, preparation, storage, and shipping of product.
  • Conduct verification and validation of critical food safety programs (Sheetz FSQA SOPs, Food Safety Plans, HACCP, SQF Systems, GMPs/GDPs, Specification Verification, Chemical Testing, Allergen Control, and Traceability) to comply with company standards and government regulations.
  • Collect microbiological samples for environmental and product analysis.
  • Provide support to the FSQA Department as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in food science or related field preferred.
  • No experience required.
  • Candidates with requirements to fulfill an internship prior to graduation are preferred.
