Job Summary

The Louisiana State University is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor of English to join our faculty team. This is a part-time, non-tenure track position that requires teaching, course development, and student advising.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and teach English courses, including syllabus creation and course materials preparation.
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators to ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Assess student learning outcomes and provide feedback to students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department chair or dean.
Requirements
  • Masters in English or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • OR Master's degree in an unrelated field plus 18 credit hours in English from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Ph.D. in English or a related field from a regionally accredited institution (preferred).
  • 2 years of teaching experience, both in-person and online (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to teach effectively and incorporate a variety of teaching strategies to maximize learning.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and communicate effectively (verbal and written).
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
