We are seeking a skilled Turbine Outside Machinist to join our team at Tradesmen International, Inc. in the Newport News, VA area. This is a first shift opportunity with a competitive pay rate and benefits package.
Key Responsibilities- Installation of hull inserts and main engine propulsion plant machinery and equipment
- Use of lapping and blue checking tools, lathe operation, and valve overhaul
- Steam plant cleaning, installation of lift check valve, and anchor windlass, mast, and antenna installation
- Lube oil flushing, installation of ballast tanks, refueler, drilling/taping, and other tasks as assigned
- Test boiler operations and installation of valve and pump packing
- Shafting and bearing work, and other tasks as assigned
- 20+ Years of Turbine Generator Experience
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry
- Familiarity with Fasteners
- Ability to comprehend complex drawings, blueprints, diagrams, and sketches
