Lead Cloud Solutions Architect - Remote
Role Overview:
The Lead Cloud Solutions Architect will spearhead the development of Cloud Infrastructure and Services.
This role serves as the primary liaison for other Technology & Engineering teams within the organization regarding all aspects of designing, constructing, managing, securing, and optimizing Cloud Infrastructure and Services.
You will collaborate with other leaders across the organization to pinpoint opportunities and challenges, devising solutions that align with business objectives.
This position requires a technically proficient and hands-on approach.This is a remote opportunity within the United States. We will only consider candidates currently residing in the United States and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.
About the role:
Engage actively in writing Infrastructure as Code (IAC) and other automation scripts, with a solid understanding of CI/CD pipeline implementation and configuration.
Own and align the architectural roadmap for cloud-based solutions that address needs such as scalability, reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
Lead the integration of technical and business requirements concerning the Cloud.
Conduct thorough analyses of existing architectures to grasp their full scope. Break down current and desired functionalities to the appropriate service or microservice level.
Design and manage secure, scalable infrastructure utilizing Kubernetes to support both external and internal use cases.
Establish architectural patterns for the Observability's three pillars – Logs (EFK stack / Splunk), Metrics (Prometheus, Grafana), and Tracing.
Collaborate with compliance and security teams to ensure that cloud adoption is managed and governed in accordance with industry standards.
You will lead the research and development of next-generation applications that support millions of users across security, privacy, identity, transactions, and data.
Evaluate the technical feasibility of building rapid Proof of Concepts (POCs), identify technological solutions for gaps, and create strategic intellectual property.
Design High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies. Establish processes, services, and tools surrounding Cloud.
Design the AWS network architecture, including VPN connectivity between regions and subnets.
Determine and oversee Cloud governance and compliance protocols.
Define landing zones, security policies, monitoring procedures, and overall manageability/maintainability of Infrastructure.
Establish architectural standards that promote DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code and automated Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
Utilize cost/benefit models that correlate architecture with business outcomes and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Coordinate with Product Owners and Business Relationship Managers to incorporate customer feedback.
Participate in the development and validation of business cases.
About you:
Your experience encompasses over 15 years in the IT sector, with more than 7 years as a Systems Architect, including expertise in designing Infrastructure as Code.
Demonstrated experience in architecting Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions in AWS, with familiarity in Cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, and VMware NSX. Preference will be given to candidates with AWS experience.
Proficient in programming constructs and possess direct experience coding in scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Perl, or other languages necessary for building Infrastructure as Code.
Experience with Containers and Container orchestration solutions: Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, or Docker Swarm.
Familiarity with deployment orchestration, automation, and security configuration management tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Cloud Formation).
Knowledge of event-driven architecture.
Experience with Kubernetes in production, including building and operating Kubernetes and executing deployments at scale in production environments.
Experience with DevOps methodologies, including building a CI/CD pipeline from scratch and applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
Proficient in one or more programming and scripting languages (Java, Go, Python, ASP.NET, PHP, C#, PowerShell, Bash).
Experience with service-oriented architecture for cloud-based services.
Expertise in building scalable and available Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions that support millions of customers.
