Lead Grill Cook

The Lead Grill Cook is responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of food in the Fore Star Grill at Pheasant Run Golf Club. This role involves supervising staff, scheduling, ordering, and inventory control. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of cooking and food preparation experience and be certified in ServSafe Food & Alcohol Safety. The ideal candidate will be able to work a variable schedule, including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise staff and ensure that all food is prepared according to the recipe and served at the proper temperature.
- Maintain facility and equipment cleanliness and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Verify inventory of all beverage cart products and maintain accurate records.
- Conduct quality line checks and ensure that all food meets the required standards.
- Organize and train staff to ensure proper food handling, alcohol serving, and cleaning procedures.
- Review the freshness of food and follow proper food storage procedures.
- Handle guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
- Establish excellent guest service and satisfaction as a priority.
- Train, assist, and supervise staff to ensure that all aspects of inventory management and control are met.
- Operate large-volume cooking equipment and assist wait staff with server duties as required.
- Clean, stock, and restock workstations and display cases.
- Order and take delivery of food and non-food supplies.
- Coordinate kitchen operations and food preparation with golf personnel to ensure customer expectations and timelines are met.
- Ensure proper kitchen closing procedures are followed.
- Responsible for adherence to all regulations, laws, and procedures related to alcohol handling and service.
- Pick up supplies as needed.
- Manage and facilitate special events.
- Coordinate with pro shop/cart staff on a daily basis and during events.
- Promote a team atmosphere.
- Perform other duties as required.
- A minimum of 2 years of cooking and food preparation experience.
- ServSafe Food & Alcohol Safety certification preferred.
- Minimum age of 18 years old.
- Ability to handle money accurately, conscientiously, and honestly.
- Ability to follow directives accurately and thoroughly and work without close supervision.
- Skill in organizing self and others and ability to self-start in discharging responsibilities.
- Ability to clearly communicate procedures, problems, and policies with fellow employees and the public in a tactful and courteous manner.
- Required to work a wide variety of shifts, including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must possess a current, valid Michigan Driver's License with a driving history that does not create liability concerns.

- This is a variable hour job opportunity. Employee's hours will fluctuate from week to week. Work hours will be determined based on workload and availability.
