About the Role

The Zero Waste Representative is a key member of our team at Republic Services, working closely with businesses, institutions, and agencies to promote sustainable practices and reduce waste. This field-based position requires a strong understanding of waste management and sustainability principles, as well as excellent communication and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Engagement: Schedule and conduct proactive customer calls and visits to assess waste management needs and provide customized solutions.
  • Waste Assessment and Reporting: Conduct initial waste assessments, collect data, and prepare contract service agreements for customers' signatures.
  • Program Implementation: Develop and implement successful zero-waste programs in assigned franchise zones, including public speaking engagements and training presentations.
  • Account Management: Manage major accounts and high-profile customers, identifying business-specific diversion programs and ensuring their implementation.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Regularly meet with operations teams to review progress, address customer service issues, and build relationships with stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role, with a focus on sustainability initiatives and waste management.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Skills: Strong communication and technical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
