Job Title: Product Review Engineer I

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Review Engineer I to join our Research and Testing Department (R&T) certification team.

Job Summary:

The Product Review Engineer I will be responsible for performing product reviews for a variety of plumbing, mechanical, and electro-plumbing products to ensure compliance with industry standards and codes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review technical documents such as laboratory test reports, engineering drawings, and calculations
  • Provide technical assistance to committees and code officials
  • Coordinate with administrative support staff to support internal workflow
  • Perform factory inspections and other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in the engineering field is preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in product testing, certification, or standard development field preferred
  • PE license desired working knowledge of both USA and Canadian plumbing product performance standards
  • Working knowledge of Uniform Plumbing Code, National Plumbing Code of Canada, and international plumbing code
  • Working knowledge of NSF/ANSI 61, low lead laws (Highly Desired)
  • Working knowledge with EPA Watersense certification scheme (Highly Desired)
  • Familiar with California Energy Commission requirements and/or others as defined (Highly Desired)
  • Familiar with the applicable IAPMO R&T Policy and Procedures (Highly Desired)
  • Excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of standards and/or codes and NSF 61 (highly desired)
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
