Ultrasound Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Nemours. As an essential personnel member, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.
Key Responsibilities:- Ultrasound Equipment Maintenance and Operation: Work knowledgeably with all ultrasound-related equipment, ensuring proper function and maintenance to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Ultrasound Studies and Image Recording: Perform ultrasound studies to demonstrate various organs of the body, recording images in standard formats for diagnosis by a physician.
- Quality Assurance and Improvement: Participate in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assurance and improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance services and implementing actions as needed.
- AIDET Interactions and Nemours Standards: Provide excellent AIDET interactions and adhere to Nemours Standards of Behavior, ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Ultrasound Imaging Protocols and Patient Preparation: Possess knowledge of ultrasound imaging protocols and provide accurate preparation instructions to patients and families, addressing procedural questions as needed.
- Portable Ultrasound Exams and Patient Identification: Perform portable ultrasound exams by traveling to inpatient units, outpatient clinics, the emergency department, and the operating room as required, ensuring proper patient identification and image documentation.
- Contrast Media Administration and Documentation: Prepare, administer, and document contrast media per departmental protocols under the direct supervision of a radiologist/physician, observing patients for allergic reactions.
- Contraindication Screening and Equipment Maintenance: Screen patients for contraindications that may be hazardous to their health or to the safety of others, ensuring proper equipment function and reporting unsafe conditions and incidents.
- Teamwork and Communication: Demonstrate the ability to work well with others, act as a team member, and engage in critical thinking to improve the quality of care, possessing good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Training and On-Call Responsibilities: Aid in the training of new personnel, students, and physicians, and be available for on-call duties as required.
Requirements: ARDMS registration or eligibility required, with completion of ARDMS registration within one year of employment. CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days of start date.
