PRIMARY FUNCTION

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee and guide the preconstruction and construction phases of assigned projects. You will be expected to provide accurate and comprehensive updates on each project's status to your immediate supervisor. It is essential to foster strong project teams by ensuring appropriate staffing levels to achieve project objectives. Additionally, you will be tasked with identifying new business opportunities related to clients or specific project types. A background in managing process, mechanical, or industrial projects is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to and promote the Murray Company safety program, ensuring compliance with established safety protocols and maximizing our safety culture through active participation in safety and strategic planning committees. Monitor teams for safety issues and recommend priority actions.
  • Organize and allocate project management and field engineering roles through collaboration with corporate department heads. Ensure that adequate resources are assigned and released promptly to align costs with workload demands, including direct management of projects when necessary. Support teams in coordinating field supervision with General Superintendents.
  • Define project goals, policies, procedures, and performance benchmarks within the framework of Murray Company programs. This includes evaluating project incentives, team-building expenses, and rewards such as safety recognitions with Project Managers. Collaborate with other Project Executives to ensure equitable treatment and opportunities for all employees across projects.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients and architectural/engineering contacts to facilitate preconstruction and construction processes while promoting future business opportunities. Advocate for the Company's Mission Statement.
  • Oversee the overall quality of work and assist project teams in addressing quality concerns. Engage in quality standards management alongside the QAQC Manager, including participation in QAQC committee meetings and contributing to quality alerts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in managing process, industrial, or mechanical projects; 15 years preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; Construction Management preferred.
  • Proven experience in building and leading successful project teams.
  • Prior experience managing teams of 10 or more personnel.
  • Experience overseeing multiple projects with budgets exceeding $20 million.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Capability to climb ladders and access confined spaces.
  • Ability to navigate uneven terrain and ascend stairs to reach job-site offices or trailers.

SALARY RANGE:

$145,000 - $185,000
