Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Iovance Biotherapeutics Inc. in Philadelphia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our solid, hazardous, and regulated medical waste disposal program activities, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective waste management strategies to minimize environmental impact and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to develop and implement EHS programs, ensuring alignment with site business goals and values.
  • Provide training and support to staff on EHS procedures and protocols.
  • Assist with incident management and reporting, ensuring timely and effective response to EHS incidents.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical/Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct occupational safety or regulated waste management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US EPA, PA DEP, DOT/IATA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels.
  • Occasional exposure to noise, equipment hazards, and strong odors.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
