Catholic Charities has been a leader in providing essential safety net services for over four decades and is now poised to implement a strategic plan, "Footsteps: Pathways to Self-Sufficiency," which aims to create a systematic, scalable, and measurable approach to community change.

The CEO will play a crucial role in realizing this vision, focusing on the integration of services to create a seamless experience for families seeking assistance. This approach will not only enhance service delivery but also strengthen the organization’s advocacy efforts to combat generational poverty.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the implementation of the "Footsteps" initiative, ensuring operational focus and guiding staff through a compassionate cultural transition.
  2. Act as the primary representative of the organization to stakeholders, including funders and community partners, while cultivating relationships to enhance support and visibility.

The CEO will collaborate closely with the Board of Directors, which includes the Bishop of the Diocese of San Jose, and will be supported by a diverse Senior Executive Team. The organization employs approximately 560 staff members, with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Essential Functions

The CEO will be responsible for:

  1. Establishing and nurturing a culture of inclusivity and collaboration within the organization.
  2. Ensuring the financial sustainability of the organization through effective management and strategic planning.
  3. Championing high-quality programming and innovative service delivery to meet the evolving needs of the community.
  4. Driving fundraising efforts and developing partnerships to secure necessary resources.
  5. Advocating for policy changes that benefit the organization’s clients and enhance community support.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. A minimum of 10 years of executive leadership experience in complex organizational settings.
  2. A proven track record in strategic planning, financial management, and organizational growth.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse communities.
  4. Experience in the nonprofit sector, particularly in social services.
  5. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

The compensation for this position includes a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, reflecting the organization’s commitment to its employees.

Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County is an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
