Pharmacy Support Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Pharmacy Support Associate to join our team at St. Luke's Hospital. As a key member of our Retail Pharmacy team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting with day-to-day operations, and supporting our pharmacists in delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service to patients and customers, responding to their needs and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with cash transactions, including processing payments, handling returns, and maintaining accurate records.
- Support the pharmacy team with tasks such as verifying patient information, maintaining inventory, and preparing medications for dispensing.
- Operate a cash register, handle cash, credit card, and employee payroll deduction transactions, and maintain accurate records.
- Process prescriptions, including verifying patient information, checking for allergies, and maintaining confidentiality.
- Run scheduled reports, place reminder calls to patients, and return prescriptions that have not been picked up to stock.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment, including restocking shelves, cleaning equipment, and disposing of hazardous waste.
- Follow established policies and procedures, including those related to patient confidentiality, cash handling, and inventory management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of on-the-job training in each area of the Department within the first six months of employment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Basic math skills and accuracy with cash handling.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
This is a full-time position, working up to 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends. The pharmacy is a fast-paced environment with frequent customer interactions, and the ability to work well under pressure is essential.
