This confidential search is for a senior leadership position with a potential trajectory towards the presidency. The role involves direct collaboration with ownership to oversee and manage retail and lumber mill operations across multiple regional sites. Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the profitable financial performance of designated operations, including the development of robust operating budgets for 2-3 retail and lumber building materials locations.
- In partnership with ownership, identify both long-term and short-term opportunities for capital development and enhancements, overseeing the procurement, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
- Work closely with managers to ensure the adoption of best practices aimed at improving overall efficiency and productivity.
- Provide leadership and training to achieve organizational goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Initiate, investigate, and follow up on potential value-added activities and process improvements that optimize the use of raw materials beneficial to the business.
- Frequent travel to remote locations via company aircraft.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree is required; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in the wood products or lumber industry.
- At least 5 years of successful management experience, emphasizing team engagement, collaboration, and strong partnership development.
- Experience in financial management, including budgeting, analysis, and forecasting.
- Proven operational leadership with a track record of developing effective operating strategies and monitoring systems.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate a culture focused on data-driven, continuous improvement, and innovative process design throughout the organization.
Compensation: $150,000-$180,000 per year with an annual bonus incentive of 15-25%.
