Registration Associate

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Registration Associate to join our team at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. As a key member of our patient access team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless registration and billing processes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Registration and Scheduling: Interview patients and families to obtain complete and accurate demographic and financial information, and ensure all necessary questionnaires and forms are completed.
- Insurance Verification: Confirm insurance coverage and obtain authorizations as needed.
- Financial Transactions: Explain regulatory financial requirements to patients or responsible parties and collect/posts deposits or deductible amounts as required.
- Appeals and Denials: Assist the Appeals department in providing information to overturn claims denials.
- Medical Record Maintenance: Initiate and execute daily medical record maintenance, including creation of patient charts, filing encounter-specific paperwork, and maintaining correspondence with patient's primary care provider and/or specialists.
- Administrative Support: Participate in office/department opening and closing procedures, assist with maintaining and restocking front office supplies, and receive and distribute mail.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: One year of experience in registration or a related clinical discipline, or completion of an externship program approved by Children's.
- Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to type 45 words per minute, and basic computer skills.
- College Degree: A college degree is preferred.
- Certifications: Certified Patient Account Representative (CPAR) or Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) is preferred.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of medical terminology, patient registration systems, insurance verification systems, and Medicaid portals is preferred.
