Job Summary:

Control Point Associates is seeking an experienced Survey Technician to join our team in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. As a Survey Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing and mentoring CAD Drafters, reviewing plans for accuracy, and assisting Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and mentor CAD Drafters to ensure plans are accurate and complete.
  • Assist and work directly with Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers.
  • Create mapping from field crew data collector files, field sketches, digital photographs, and reference maps.
  • Prepare and set-up survey data for field crews.
  • Post survey field data analysis and/or conversions as necessary.
  • Perform construction layout calculations, as-built surveys, and/or sketches.
  • Prepare grade sheets and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys.
  • Conduct topographic analysis and prepare Metes & Bounds descriptions.
  • Prepare FEMA Elevation certificates and Subdivision Plans.
  • Accountable for plan presentation and survey traverse adjustments.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of surveying experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Strong math skills and proven record of producing clean and accurate plan presentations.
  • Knowledge of field survey operations, engineering, and construction industry.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new software and technologies in a timely manner.
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines within budget.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as a team member.
