Role Summary and QualificationsThe Clinical Nurse Educator is tasked with enhancing professional practice and ensuring high-quality patient care within their specialty across the hospitals in their designated division. The Clinical Nurse Educator will possess in-depth knowledge in specialty nursing and will deliver evidence-based educational programs that foster professional competency among nursing staff and other clinical personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and facilitates orientation and onboarding programs to enhance employee retention.
- Conducts orientation sessions that create a supportive learning atmosphere.
- Identifies educational needs of specialty staff through assessments and metrics, creating targeted learning activities to address gaps.
- Designs educational content that promotes active learner participation.
- Evaluates practice gaps and collaborates with clinical education team members to refine educational offerings based on feedback.
- Engages in continuous professional development.
- Monitors compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards while reporting key performance indicators for clinical education.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related clinical field is required.
- A Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related clinical field is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical education is required.
- At least 3 years of experience in a nursing specialty within an acute care setting is required.
- Current licensure as required by the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Specialty certification recognized by the American Nurse Credentialing Center is required.
- Certification as a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner is highly preferred.
