Position Overview:
The Department of Neurology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, in collaboration with the University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Institute, is inviting applications for a full-time physician role focused on Spinal Cord Injury Medicine rehabilitation.
Role Responsibilities:
This position encompasses both inpatient and outpatient care, along with the educational mentorship of fellows, residents, and medical students. There is also an opportunity to engage in collaborative clinical research initiatives.
Additional Opportunities:
In addition to spinal cord injury management, the role may involve participation in various rehabilitation services, including spasticity management, prosthetics, and inpatient rehabilitation consultations.
Team Environment:
Join a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, who operate the largest inpatient spinal cord injury rehabilitation program in Maryland.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) or Neurology and should be board eligible or certified in their respective specialties. Certification in spinal cord injury medicine is mandatory. While clinical research experience is preferred, it is not a requirement.
Academic Appointment:
The successful candidate should be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Maryland School of Medicine at the assistant or associate professor level.
